Apparently Mayor Bloomberg owns the Hearst Corporation now or something, because today I got a letter from the mayor’s office, responding to a Freedom of Information request I filed (in November, mind you) for e-mails between the mayor’s office and the city’s new school chancellor, Cathie Black, when she was still running Cosmo and Good Housekeeping.

But the city says I can’t have them, because they’re exempt as “inter-agency or intra-agency communications.” Uhh, riiiiight. More »
